About us
The Association of Austrian Cattle Breeders (ZAR) is a society with its headquarters in Vienna. Its activities extend all over the federal territory of Austria.
The main aim of ZAR is to represent the interests of Austrian cattle breeders, to promote and carry out measures which lead to the direct improvement of national cattle breeding and the standing of breeders both at home and abroad.
The ZAR is non-political; the activities of the society are not aimed at making a profit.
The cattle breeding associations are full members of the ZAR in as far as they are recognised by cattle breeding law and have, as members, at least 100 breeding herds. The agricultural chambers in the provinces, the provincial recording associations, the artificial insemination centres and the breed federations.
